Morgan, Brown & Joy Partners Jaclyn L. Kugell, Damien M. DiGiovanni, and Jeffrey S. Siegel to Present NECCA Seminar, “Employment Law Update”
Morgan, Brown & Joy partners Jaclyn L. Kugell, Damien M. DiGiovanni, and Jeffrey S. Siegel will present the New England Corporate Counsel Association (NECCA) seminar, “Employment Law Update,” on September 13, 2023. Kugell, DiGiovanni, and Siegel will provide a review of recent updates in labor and employment law, including decisions from the U.S. Supreme Court and the National Labor Relations Board, developments under the Family and Medical Leave Act and the MA Family and Medical Leave law, as well as other changes that impact Massachusetts employers and human resources professionals.

Kugell is an established employment lawyer who counsels business owners and management through virtually every scenario surrounding the employer-employee relationship. As Chair of Morgan, Brown & Joy’s Management Committee, she brings strong leadership skills to clients, helping them to make important business decisions and manage their operations efficiently while minimizing risks. Her practice encompasses daily employment counseling, training, employment litigation, collective bargaining and labor arbitration. Kugell proactively works with clients to avoid allegations of wrongdoing, carefully advising on ways to run operations that meet business objectives and achieve compliance.
DiGiovanni represents public and private sector clients in various industries, including higher education, transportation, retail, public utilities, municipalities and health care, both in Massachusetts and across the country. His labor law practice includes day-to-day counseling to clients regarding contract administration and compliance with various state and federal labor laws, representing employers in collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, and in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, the Massachusetts Department of Labor Relations, and state and federal courts.
Siegel represents employers in virtually every labor and employment scenario. Jeff advises on and prepares restrictive covenant agreements, including agreements under the Massachusetts Noncompetition Agreement Act, and litigates to enforce or defeat non-competition, non-solicitation, and trade secret matters. He also counsels clients in day-to-day human resources matters, including employment policies and handbooks, wage and hour matters, bonus and commission plans, layoffs, and employee leave issues.
NECCA, a Massachusetts non-profit corporation, is a membership association of in-house/corporate counsel primarily from Massachusetts, although in-house/corporate counsel from other New England states are encouraged to join. NECCA meets monthly from September through June for a seminar on legal issues and topics of common interest, and for members to share resources and to network.
