Morgan, Brown & Joy Partner Gregory A. Manousos Appointed to NACUA’s Committee on Virtual Programming
Morgan, Brown & Joy partner Gregory A. Manousos has been appointed to serve on the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) Committee on Virtual Programming. The Committee is responsible for developing webinars, online courses, briefings, and other online programming presented by NACUA. In this role, Manousos will collaborate with committee members to suggest program topics, formats, and speakers.
Manousos is a litigator and counselor to colleges, universities, medical institutions, academic medical centers, independent schools, businesses, non-profit organizations, and retailers. In-house counsel, human resources professionals, and heads of school look to him for experienced, day-to-day employment law advice and for practical and creative ways to maintain compliance with the wide range of employment laws while also achieving institutional and business objectives. He helps clients navigate discrimination and harassment claims, denial of tenure claims, Family and Medical Leave Act claims, wage and hour disputes, litigation involving non-competition agreements, and compliance with diversity, equity and inclusion goals and requirements. He also works with colleges, universities, and independent schools in handling sensitive and complex litigation involving students, including cases involving sexual misconduct, other behavioral issues, and academic matters. A seasoned trial attorney, Manousos has tried more than 15 cases to verdict in jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations, and before administrative agencies.
NACUA’s mission is to advance the effective practice of higher education attorneys for the benefit of the colleges and universities they serve. NACUA enhances legal assistance to colleges and universities by educating attorneys and administrators on campus legal issues. NACUA produces legal resources, offers continuing legal education programming, maintains a listserv (NACUANET) and a variety of member-only web-based resources, and operates a clearinghouse through which attorneys on campuses are able to share resources, knowledge and work products on current legal concerns and interests.
