Kugell spoke at Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education’s (MCLE) “Things to Do Now to Get in Step with the New MA Paid Family & Medical Leave Law: 60-Minute Lawyer” program, September 24, 2019, in Boston, MA. Kugell provided an overview of the new Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) law, including:
- Eligibility and coverage, qualifying uses for leave, payment of benefits and maximum leave entitlements
- Employer notice, posting, and reporting obligations
- Interactions with other leave laws
- PFML’s anti-retaliation provisions
- Strategies for PFML implementation and practical considerations
Kugell is the Chair of Morgan Brown & Joy’s Management Committee, representing employers in employment litigation matters in Massachusetts Courts, United States Federal District Courts including Georgia, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio and Rhode Island, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First and Eleventh Circuits.
