Morgan, Brown & Joy attorneys Daniel Field and Deepa Desai co-presented at the 2019 Northeast Regional Dunkin’ Donuts Independent Franchise Owners (DDIFO) meeting, “The NextGen Store – from Finance to Staffing and Beyond,” April 23, 2019, in Needham, MA. The presentation addressed the many new employment requirements that franchisees and small business owners must comply with when hiring staff.
Field represents employers in a variety of labor and employment matters with a special focus on wage and hour compliance and litigation defense in employment disputes. He frequently defends companies facing wage and hour class/collective action lawsuits and government audits, and represents businesses in litigation involving claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, trade secret violations, torts and breach of contract.
Desai defends employers against claims of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, as well as wage and hour violations and contract disputes. She also counsels employers in a wide range of workplace matters, including the preparation of employee handbooks, hiring, terminations, discipline, leaves of absence, benefits compliance and reasonable accommodation.
