Morgan, Brown & Joy attorney Jack Thaler will present the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE) program, “Breaking Down the Fair Labor Standards Act: Overtime, Minimums, & More,” on June 13, 2024. Thaler will provide an overview of the current FLSA overtime exemptions, an examination of the impending alterations stemming from the Department of Labor’s Final Rule published on April 23, 2024, and practical guidance on the next steps for employers navigating these adjustments. Thaler counsels employers in labor and employment law matters. His experience spans all angles of employer-employee relationships, advising management on wage and hour laws, breach of contract, severance negotiations, non-competition agreements, discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation. He also advises clients on compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), reviewing and updating employee handbooks and policies to align with the often-shifting employment laws. He has successfully completed the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination’s (MCAD) certification program for conducting internal complaint investigations.
