Stacy L. Cowan

Stacy Cowan rejoined the firm in 2010 as Of Counsel.  Stacy was previously an associate with the firm from 1997-2003.  Since 1997, Stacy’s law practice has focused exclusively on providing advice and counsel to management and human resources professionals on all aspects of labor and employment issues including: hiring, background check procedures, performance management, job classifications, compensation plans, policy review, mergers and acquisitions, leaves of absence, internal investigations, reductions in force, terminations, non-solicitation/non-compete agreements, severance and settlement agreements.  Stacy litigates employment cases pending before state and federal agencies.

Prior to rejoining the firm, Stacy practiced labor and employment law at Seyfarth Shaw LLP, and served as Corporate Employment Counsel with Fidelity Investments and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.  Stacy is a member of the American Bar Association (Labor and Employment Law Section), National Employment Law Council, Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association and Corporate Counsel Women of Color.  

Stacy is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and is a certified trainer through the MCAD’s Certified Harassment and Discrimination Train-the-Trainer Courses. 

Stacy is a graduate of Cornell University (B.S. 1994), and Northeastern University School of Law (J.D. 1997).
