Keith B. Muntyan
Keith's practice divides roughly evenly between traditional labor law - negotiating collective bargaining agreements, arbitrating, and advising management regarding day-to-day contract interpretation and administration - and employment law, including litigation. He has successfully defended numerous jury trials involving alleged discrimination on the basis of age, gender, disability, race and religion in both Federal and State court, as well as administrative proceedings at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the U.S. Department of Labor, and a variety of other State and Federal agencies.
Keith joined Morgan, Brown & Joy in 1983, and became a partner in 1988. After graduating from law school at Northeastern University in Boston in 1979, he served for three years as Staff Counsel at the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C., first as a specialist in representation case appeals, and then as Counsel to Board Members John Truesdale and later Robert Hunter. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, where he was a Danforth Fellow, and at the Honors College at Michigan State University. Between undergraduate and law school, he was in the Ph.D. program in philosophy at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst until he noticed that there was zero chance of becoming employed in the field.
